Projects

On the service side of Vitae, we have several opportunities for volunteering. We are currently following several Ukrainian families who have resettled in the US. We are trying to put them in contact with valuable vocational connections and land jobs with salaries that fairly reflect their skill level.

On the media side, we have an ongoing project to get in touch with previous Vitae volunteers and guests to talk about their experiences at Vitae.

Film Slate Marker

In April of 2023, with donations drying up and operating costs rising, Vitae Shelter ran out of funding and had to close its doors. Today, as you can see above, there are several ongoing projects to continue to help Ukrainians find work and housing, and document the social experiment that was Vitae Shelter.

In memory of Judy, shelter mom & talented chef--though if she were still here, she would probably tell me to eff off.

Thank you for your donation!

Where do your donations go?

60% to other Ukrainian-centered non-profits including...

20% to the refugees of Vitae Shelter as housing stipends or to meet other basic needs

20% to the Vitae Project for administrative and operational costs including web hosting, domain maintenance, content creation, travel for media and volunteer projects, and hiring outside media and humanitarian consultants

The Vitae Project is not a registered non-profit; unfortunately donations are not tax-deductible at this time. Because the shelter is now closed, the majority of donations will be distributed to other non-profits serving Ukrainian Refugees. The small remainder of the money will be set aside for Ukrainian Refugees from the Vitae Shelter for living expenses, and maintenance of The Vitae Project's operations.
